Vertical Mitering
/ Angle-Changing Machine
The vertical-orientation glass mitering machine engineered for precise angle grinding from 0° to 45° — 10 to 13 configurable spindles deliver miter edge coarse grinding, fine grinding, polishing, and front/rear arrising in a single pass.
How It Works
Five stages from raw glass to polished miter — angle adjustable from 0° to 45°.
Why This Mitering Machine
Six features that deliver precise miter angles in minimum floor space.
0–45° Adjustable Miter Angle
Precisely adjustable from 0° (flat edge) to 45° (full miter) via press button or HMI touchscreen. Create seamless glass-to-glass corner joints for display cases, furniture, and architectural frames — one machine, any angle.
Dual Miter + Flat Edge (13A)
The 13A Enterprise model adds 3 flat edging spindles to the 10-spindle miter configuration — processing both miter and flat edges in a single pass without changing machines or setups.
Vertical Space-Saving Design
Glass travels upright through the mitering zone — reducing floor footprint by up to 40% compared to horizontal mitering machines. As compact as 6.9m long, it fits into workshops where floor space is at a premium.
10-Wheel Precision Grinding Sequence
A complete 10-wheel grinding sequence: coarse grind → fine grind → polish for the miter edge, plus dedicated front and rear arris treatment — all in a single pass through the machine.
50mm Minimum Glass Width
Processes glass pieces as narrow as 50mm (A models) — handling small furniture panels, mirror strips, and display components that larger machines cannot process.
PLC + HMI Touchscreen Control
Professional and Enterprise models feature PLC-controlled angle adjustment, thickness setting, and speed control via touchscreen HMI. Store preset profiles for instant angle and thickness changeover.
0–45° Continuous Angle Adjustment
Set any miter angle from flat (0°) to full 45° — the only machine in its class that combines continuous angle adjustment with vertical space-saving design.

How It Compares
Mitering machine vs. straight-line edger vs. manual angle grinder.
Hanwin Mitering Machine leads in Miter Precision (95), Footprint (90), and Versatility (85) — the most precise and compact angle grinding solution.
Where It Excels
From architectural corners to shower enclosures — one machine, every miter need.
Architectural Corner Joints
Precision Miter Assembly
Glass corner joints for display cases, showcases, and architectural features demand precise 45° miter edges that fit seamlessly. The mitering machine delivers consistent angle accuracy across production runs — the standard for glass corner fabrication.

Five essential maintenance practices to maximize angle accuracy and wheel life.
Inspect all 6 mitering wheels and 4 seaming wheels for wear, chips, or glazing. Check miter angle accuracy on test pieces. Replace wheels when edge finish degrades or angle geometry drifts.
Check coolant concentration and pH level (target 7.0–8.5). Drain and clean the water tank. Flush coolant lines with clean water to remove glass particle buildup. Inspect coolant nozzles at each wheel station.
Verify miter angle accuracy using a precision angle gauge. Check angle at 0°, 15°, 30°, and 45° positions. If accuracy drifts beyond ±0.5°, recalibrate the angle adjustment mechanism following the service manual.
Inspect chain (10M) or chainless bearing (10A/13A) conveyor for wear, tension, and alignment. Check all drive motor mounts and couplings. Lubricate chain links or bearing races with approved lubricant.
Perform complete machine calibration using laser alignment tools. Verify miter angle accuracy, edge flatness, conveyor speed, and sensor alignment. Update PLC software if applicable. Conduct full safety system test including emergency stops.
Common Questions
Everything you need to know about the Vertical Mitering / Angle-Changing Machine.
The machine produces miter angles from 0° (flat edge) to 45° (full miter). The angle is adjustable in continuous increments — set any angle within this range for custom corner joints. The 10M model uses a press button for angle adjustment, while the 10A and 13A models use the HMI touchscreen for digital precision.
The 10M is the manual entry model with chain conveyor and manual controls. The 10A upgrades to chainless bearings, PLC control with HMI touchscreen, ABB motors, and automatic thickness/angle adjustment. The 13A adds 3 flat edging spindles (13 total) for combined miter + flat edge processing in a single pass.
The 10M model handles glass as narrow as 120mm. The 10A and 13A models can process glass pieces as narrow as 50mm — making them suitable for small furniture panels, mirror strips, and display components that larger machines cannot handle.
Yes, but only the 13A Enterprise model. It has 6 mitering spindles plus 3 additional flat edging spindles, allowing both miter and flat edge processing in a single pass. The 10M and 10A models only perform miter edging.
The machine handles float glass, tempered glass (before tempering), laminated glass, coated glass, and mirror glass. The adjustable spindle pressure and coolant flow protect delicate surfaces while delivering precise miter geometry. Glass thickness range is 3–30mm (optional 40mm on A models).
Standard installation takes 3–5 days including mechanical setup, electrical connection, angle calibration, PLC programming (on A models), and operator training. Our engineers can also assist with production line integration if the mitering machine is part of a larger system.
