Advantages

Why This Automatic Drilling Machine

Six features that deliver fully automatic, production-line-ready glass drilling.

Automatic CNC-Controlled Batch Programs

Program-controlled drilling eliminates manual marking error and operator skill dependence. Hole patterns are stored as batch programs and recalled with one button — identical results on every panel, from the first to the last.

Dual-Head Independent Operation

Two drilling heads operate simultaneously for double throughput, or independently for different hole sizes. Each head has paired upper/lower spindles for front/rear drilling — achieving ±0.10mm concentricity on through-holes.

Servo-Driven Precision Positioning

X, Z, and W axes are all driven by servo motors with precision linear guides and ball screws. Delivers ±0.05–±0.10mm positioning accuracy across the full 2500×2000mm working area — program-controlled, not operator-dependent.

CNC + PLC + Touch Screen Control

A CNC controller handles hole-coordinate and tool-path logic while the PLC manages sequencing, with a touch screen HMI for programming and batch recall. One operator can oversee multiple machines.

Standard Production Run Capability

Purpose-built for standard production runs and batch hole programs — the workhorse drilling solution for high-volume factory lines producing recurring glass products with consistent hole patterns.

Production Line Integration

Designed to sit between the edging and washing stations of a complete line, matching conveyor height, control interface, and glass-handling logic — with a bypass option for mixed production.

Conveyor = Zero Manual Handling

The full conveyor belt system transports glass from infeed to drilling to outfeed — zero manual positioning, zero human error. The only machine in its class that combines automatic loading, drilling, and unloading in one horizontal system.

Applications

Where It Excels

From architectural to appliance glass — one machine, every CNC drilling need.

Architectural & Facade Glass

Standard Production Run Drilling

Architectural glass for doors, windows, and facade panels requires recurring, precision-drilled hole patterns. Batch programs hold every mounting-hole layout, so recurring production runs repeat without re-programming.

Maintenance

Keep It Running

Five essential maintenance practices to maximize conveyor uptime and drill accuracy.

Inspect all drill bits for wear or glazing. Clean glass particles from the worktable and support rollers. Verify water cooling flow through all spindles. Clean water tank filters. Confirm batch programs are backed up.

Verify servo motor performance on X/Z/W axes. Check laser cross-hair alignment accuracy. Calibrate touch screen position display against actual drill positions. Lubricate all linear guide rails and ball screws with precision machine oil.

Verify positioning accuracy at test positions across the full working area. If accuracy drifts beyond ±0.10mm, recalibrate servo systems. Check upper/lower spindle concentricity. Update CNC offset values and back up all batch programs.

Inspect all spindle bearings for play, noise, or vibration. Check spindle alignment and runout. Verify motor power output. Inspect conveyor drive motor and rollers. Check all electrical connections and Schneider components. Replace spindle coolant filters.

Complete machine calibration using precision measurement tools. Verify all axes, spindle concentricity, laser positioning, pneumatic pressure, water cooling, and safety systems. Replace drill bits and wear components. Full CE compliance check.

FAQ

Common Questions

Everything you need to know about the Automatic Glass Drilling Machine.

The CNC controller calculates every hole coordinate from a saved batch program and the servo-driven axes position the drill heads automatically. There is no manual marking, measuring, or repositioning — the operator recalls a program and presses start. This removes operator dependence and delivers identical results on every panel.

The standard configuration handles 2500×2000mm sheets — covering architectural, shower, furniture, and solar panels. Minimum glass size is 200×200mm. The G-CD-3 Enterprise extends the working range to 2600×2500mm.

The standard range is Φ4–Φ60mm — covering everything from small mounting holes (Φ4mm) to ventilation and pass-through holes (Φ60mm). The G-CD-3 Enterprise extends to Φ80mm. Different hole sizes use different diamond core drill bits, changed automatically or manually.

Yes — the G-CD-2 and G-CD-3 models are designed for production line integration, sitting between the edging and washing stations. The control interface and glass-handling logic match HANWIN's Cutting and Edging Series, and the drilling station can be configured as a bypass point for mixed production.

Positioning accuracy is ±0.05–±0.10mm, program-controlled. Because the coordinates come from the CNC controller rather than the operator, accuracy does not vary between shifts — every hole in every batch lands in exactly the same place.

The G-CD-1 has 1 drilling head with PLC control — ideal for standard production. The G-CD-2 has 2 independent heads with CNC batch program control and servo 3-axis positioning — 2× throughput for high-volume batch runs. The G-CD-3 adds full CNC, extended glass range (Φ80mm, 2600×2500mm), ERP bar-code integration, CCD camera option, and production line bypass — for maximum automation and line connectivity.
