Advantages

Why This CNC Drilling Machine

Six features that deliver precision CNC drilling, milling, and chamfering on every glass sheet.

5-Axis Simultaneous CNC Control

Mitsubishi 5-axis CNC with continuous contour trajectory control — simultaneous X/Y/Z positioning plus A/B rotation. Processes complex hole patterns, slots, cutouts, and irregular shapes that 3-axis systems cannot achieve. Real-time coordinate display with ±0.50mm accuracy.

Dual Electric Spindles (7.5kW × 2)

Two high-performance electric spindles (7.5kW each, 0–12,000 RPM) drill from front and rear faces simultaneously — achieving ±0.10mm concentricity. The dual-spindle design halves processing time vs. single-spindle systems.

8+8 Automatic Tool Changer

16 total tool positions (8 per spindle) with automatic tool selection — core drill bits, milling cutters, countersink bits, chamfering wheels, grinding wheels, and polishing wheels. The CNC controller selects the correct tool for each operation automatically.

EasyCAM Software with 40+ Graphics

Professional EasyCAM software with built-in library of 40+ standard hole/slot graphics. Parametric size-driven design — enter key dimensions and the software generates G-code automatically. Supports offline drawing, on-site modifications, and real-time preview.

Internal Water Cooling System

Water runs inside the core drill bit during drilling — cooling the cutting edge, flushing glass particles, and extending bit life by 3x. Separate water delivery to front and rear spindles ensures consistent cooling across both faces.

FEA-Optimized Resonance-Free Structure

Machine body optimized using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to avoid resonance — natural frequency kept outside the operational frequency range. Guarantees long-term precision and mechanical stability even at maximum spindle speed (12,000 RPM).

5-Axis Simultaneous CNC Control

Mitsubishi 5-axis CNC with continuous contour trajectory control — simultaneous X/Y/Z positioning plus A/B rotation. Processes complex hole patterns, slots, cutouts, and irregular shapes that 3-axis systems cannot achieve.

Applications

Where It Excels

From curtain wall to solar glass — one machine, every drilling need.

Curtain Wall & Facade Glass

Precision Mounting Holes

Curtain wall glass requires precision-drilled mounting holes for bolts, anchors, and spider fittings. The CNC Drilling Machine's ±0.50mm positioning accuracy and ±0.10mm concentricity ensure holes align perfectly with structural hardware across large production batches.

Maintenance

Keep It Drilling

Five essential maintenance practices to maximize drill accuracy and tool life.

Inspect all drill bits for wear, chipping, or dullness. Dress or replace bits as needed. Verify water cooling flow through core drill bits — check that water runs inside the bit during drilling. Clean water delivery lines and filters. Check pneumatic drill feeding pressure.

Inspect all 16 tool positions (8+8) for proper seating and alignment. Clean tool holder taper surfaces. Verify automatic tool change sequence runs smoothly. Check tool wear sensors and calibration. Lubricate tool changer mechanism.

Verify positioning accuracy at Φ10, Φ30, Φ50, and Φ100mm test positions. If accuracy drifts beyond ±0.5mm, recalibrate the X/Y/Z servo systems. Check front/rear concentricity using test glass. Update CNC offset values. Backup all programs.

Inspect spindle bearings for play or noise at 12,000 RPM. Check spindle alignment and runout using a precision dial indicator. Verify motor power output. Lubricate all linear guides and ball screws. Check electrical connections and Schneider components.

Perform complete machine calibration using laser measurement tools. Verify all 5 axes (X/Y/Z/A/B), tool changer accuracy, pneumatic pressure, water cooling flow, and safety systems. Replace drill bits, milling cutters, and wear components. Full CE compliance check.

FAQ

Common Questions

Everything you need to know about the CNC Vertical Glass Drilling Machine.

The maximum drill hole diameter is Φ100mm using the large core drill bit. The machine handles holes from Φ4mm (tiny mounting holes) to Φ100mm (large cable pass-throughs) — all with ±0.50mm positioning accuracy and ±0.10mm concentricity.

Yes — the dual spindle design drills from front and rear faces simultaneously, achieving ±0.10mm concentricity between front and rear holes. This is critical for through-holes in laminated glass and thick tempered glass where alignment matters.

The EasyCAM software with 40+ standard graphics library controls all drilling patterns. Enter key dimensions parametrically and the software generates G-code automatically. Supports offline drawing, on-site modifications, and real-time preview. Custom patterns can be imported via DXF files.

Standard maximum glass size is 5000×2500mm. Larger sizes (up to 6000×3000mm) are available on request. Minimum glass size is 500×500mm. The pneumatic conveyor and clamping system adjust automatically to hold glass securely from minimum to maximum size.

Yes — the G-VDP-5 Enterprise model combines drilling, milling (slots, cutouts, irregular shapes), countersinking (beveled hole entries), chamfering (smooth hole edges), grinding (hole interior smoothing), and polishing — all in one CNC program cycle without manual intervention.

The G-VDP-1 has 1 pair of spindles (front & rear) with NC control — ideal for standard drilling. The G-VDP-2 has 2 pairs of spindles (4 total) with servo motors — 2x throughput for high-volume production. The G-VDP-5 is a full 5-axis CNC system with dual 7.5kW spindles, automatic tool changer, and EasyCAM software — the most versatile model for complex drilling, milling, and chamfering.
