Conveyor Belts & Rollers
Nomex felt belts, rubber-coated rollers, and precision bearings for glass handling conveyors. Designed to move glass without marking, scratching, or generating particulate.
How It Works
Four stages from belt selection to production run — the engineering behind scratch-free glass transport.
Why Hanwin Conveyors
Scratch-free, lint-free, maintenance-free. Every component engineered for hostile glass processing environments.
Nomex Felt Technology
High-temperature aramid fibers resist water absorption and won't shed lint onto glass surfaces. Consistent friction when wet or dry.
Ceramic Hybrid Bearings
Si₃N₄ ceramic balls in steel races — zero lubrication needed, immune to water corrosion, 20,000+ hour life.
Anti-Static EPDM Rollers
EPDM rubber (Shore A 65–75) with anti-static properties prevents dust attraction and eliminates glass marking.
Drop-In Replacement
Pre-drilled mounting holes and labeled orientation marks. Designed as exact replacements for Hanwin conveyor systems.
Zero-Lube Ceramic Bearings
Si₃N₄ ceramic balls in steel races — immune to water corrosion, requiring zero lubrication for 20,000+ hours.
Technical Specs
Nomex felt, EPDM rubber, and ceramic bearings — every component purpose-built for glass handling.
How It Compares
Conveyor parts lead in durability — Nomex, ceramic bearings, and EPDM rubber built to survive hostile environments.
Conveyor parts score highest in Durability (85) and Versatility (75) — engineered to survive water, glass dust, and chemical exposure while maintaining scratch-free transport.
Where It Excels
From high-speed edgers to washing lines — built for the most hostile conveyor environments.
Edger Conveyor Systems
Double & Single Edgers
Edger conveyors operate at high speed in wet environments, transporting glass through grinding and polishing stages. Nomex felt belts resist water absorption and maintain consistent friction, while ceramic bearings eliminate the lubrication that contaminates glass surfaces.

Keep Them Moving
Five essential practices to maximize conveyor life and prevent glass marking and contamination.
Belt stretch causes tracking issues and uneven glass transport. Check tension weekly and adjust using the machine's tracking knobs.
Glass dust accumulates on roller surfaces and causes marking. Wipe rollers with a damp cloth at the end of each shift.
Don't wait for belt failure. Replace when felt becomes thin, matted, or shows visible wear patterns. Worn belts generate glass dust that contaminates downstream processes.
Use a straightedge to verify all rollers are parallel and at uniform height. Misalignment causes glass drift and edge damage.
While ceramic bearings are maintenance-free, drive motor bearings need quarterly lubrication. Use only manufacturer-specified grease.
Common Questions
Everything you need to know about conveyor belts and rollers.
Three indicators: (1) Visible thinning or matting of the felt surface, (2) Glass dust accumulating on the belt (indicates felt shedding), (3) Glass slipping or sticking during transport (friction coefficient has changed). Average life is 6–12 months depending on volume and environment.
Nomex is strongly recommended for any wet processing environment. Standard cotton felt absorbs water, becomes heavy, sheds lint, and deteriorates rapidly. Nomex costs 2× more but lasts 3–4× longer in wet conditions.
Aftermarket rollers may fit physically but often use inferior rubber compounds that mark glass, and standard bearings that corrode in wet environments. The cost savings are quickly offset by glass damage claims and increased maintenance.
Most roller noise comes from bearing failure — the ceramic balls develop flat spots or the steel races corrode. Replace the roller immediately — a noisy roller generates vibration that causes glass marking and can damage adjacent rollers.
