CNC Milling Cutter
Solid carbide or PCD-tipped milling cutters for CNC working centers. Designed for 2D and 3D glass profiling, edge shaping, and contour cutting at production speeds — any profile, any contour.
How It Works
Four stages from programming to profile completion — the engineering behind every contour.
Why Milling Cutter
Maximum versatility, maximum precision. Every feature engineered for custom profiling and contour cutting.
CVD Diamond Coating
Chemical vapor deposition diamond coating provides uniform hardness across the entire cutting surface. 3–5× longer life than uncoated carbide.
Any Profile Geometry
From simple chamfers to complex ogees and custom contours — the CNC program defines the profile, not the tool shape. Unlimited design flexibility.
G2.5 Dynamic Balance
Precision balancing to G2.5 standard eliminates vibration that causes edge chipping and surface defects. Critical for high-speed profiling.
Optimized Flute Geometry
Flute channels are engineered specifically for glass swarf — finer and more abrasive than metal chips. Efficient evacuation prevents recutting and tool damage.
Any Profile Geometry
From simple chamfers to complex ogees and custom contours — the CNC program defines the profile, not the tool shape. Unlimited design flexibility.

Precision-engineered cutters built for custom profiling and contour cutting.
How It Compares
Milling cutters lead in versatility and profile range — the ultimate tool for custom CNC glass profiling.
Milling cutters score highest in Versatility (95) and Profile Range (95) — making them the optimal choice for custom profiling where edge geometry variety matters most.

Maximum lifeKeep Them Cutting
Five essential practices to maximize cutter life and maintain consistent profile accuracy.
CNC milling cutters must operate with coolant. Dry operation instantly damages the diamond coating and can cause catastrophic tool failure.
Check the diamond coating under magnification weekly. When coating wear exceeds 50% of the original thickness, plan replacement — the tool will still cut but with reduced efficiency.
Measure sample pieces daily against the programmed dimensions. When tolerance drift exceeds ±0.05mm, the tool needs replacement or the CNC program needs adjustment.
Glass dust accumulates in flute channels and on the tool shank. Clean with compressed air and a brass brush after each shift — never steel, which can damage the coating.
Log meters processed per tool. Average life is 500–2,000 linear meters depending on glass type, profile complexity, and feed speed.
Common Questions
Everything you need to know about CNC milling cutters.
Use milling cutters for custom profiles, varied edge geometries, and prototype/short-run production. Diamond wheels are faster for simple straight-line edging but cannot create complex profiles without custom wheel manufacturing.
CVD diamond coating is better for general-purpose profiling — it provides uniform hardness and is more cost-effective. PCD (polycrystalline diamond) tips are better for heavy-duty applications and thick glass (12mm+) where the coating may wear through.
One tool creates the same profile across its entire life. Different profiles require different toolpaths, and often different tool geometries (e.g., ball-nose for bullnose, flat-end for chamfer). The tool is not the limiting factor — the CNC program is.
Minimum 3kW for standard profiling on glass up to 12mm. For thick glass (12–25mm) or aggressive profiling, 5–7.5kW is recommended. Higher power allows faster feed rates and longer tool life.
